Use and conservation of natural resources and cultural heritage of the South Urals to be discussed in Ufa

The all-Russian research and practice "Natural and cultural heritage of the South Urals as an innovative resource" devoted to the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the palaeolythic painting in the Shulgan-Tash cave will take place in Ufa on October 27-29. Its organizers are Ufa Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences RB with the assistance of Ministry for Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism RB and Ufa State Academy of Economics and Service.
The aim of the conference is to show the real recreational potential of the South Urals region and feasible ways of its complex usage on condition that natural heritage is conserved. Bashkortostan and the South Urals as a whole represent one of the most promising recreational regions. There is a major tourism development program in our republic. However, along with the socio-economic development of the region, the need of conservation of the natural heritage in its all diversity including geological component should also be born in mind.
Scientists from different cities of Russia and CIS countries will take part in the conference. The opening of the conference and the plenary meeting followed by the sections devoted to such topics as "Cultural heritage of the South Urals as an innovative resource" and "Protection and use of speleological objects as natural monuments" will take place on October 27. On October 28, within the meeting of the third section, scientists will discuss natural and cultural heritage of the South Urals and the Transurals region from the point of view of its protection and practical use.
In conclusion, Ufa Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Ministry for Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism RB will organize an excursion to the Shulgan-Tash cave for participants of the conference.
