September 30 is the World Internet Day. Today the development of the global network in Ufa and in Bashkortostan was discussed in the city administration by main providers.

According to the deputy head of Ufa administration Aleksey Oschepkov, our capital is far from being at the bottom of the Internet community.

"We take the seventh place by the number of sites. The number of users is already more than 241 thousand people. Internet technologies are widely used in the system of land and property registration. Electronic registry, which makes it possible to avoid queues, and paperless payment system are both on the introduction stage" - Aleksey Oschepkov said.

There are more than 20 companies providing access to the Internet in the city now. Despite great opportunities of this type of communication, providers still have many problems. One of them is network swindlers offering false goods or services. Providers think that, the way to eliminate this is a voluntary certification. Another problem is a low competence of the population. Some companies have to teach every four client to work in the Internet.

It is interesting that the World Wide Web now discusses the questions of the number of providers and the quality of the Internet content. There is a lack of unity between local Internet projects. There is no single recourse base.

Providers answered the questions of journalists and agreed that even economic crisis cannot adversely affect the Internet development. Statistics shows that while print, TV and radio mass media are loosing their advertisers, the number of electronic ads is growing.
