Decade devoted to the Day of elderly people will take place in Ordzhonikidzevsky region of Ufa

By tradition, the decade devoted to the International day of elderly people in Ordzhonikidzevsky region will be opened with the meeting of the head of administration with veterans. This year the meeting "At the round table" will take place on September 30. There will also be a concert "Looking back at our youth" and a celebratory dinner in the centre "Phoenix".

Besides, there will be volunteer clean-up organized from October 1 till October 30 in apartments of pensioners living alone. During the decade, hairdressing services will be rendered at no charge for disabled persons of group I, subscription for periodicals for the first six months of 2010 will be organized, "social taxi" will serve veterans.

Starting from October 1, comprehensive institutions and teenage clubs will organize extracurricular hours, meetings, and musical evenings for elderly residents of micro-districts.

There are also festive events in the program of the regional committee for physical culture and sports. According to information and analytical centre of administration of Ordzhonikidzevsky region, there will be a regional chess competition among veterans on October 1 and a sports festival on October 7 and 8.
