Bright way of Rim Yanguzin

"Kitap" publishing house has published a book "Bright way. Memoirs about Rim Yanguzin". The book is a tribute to the memory of the outstanding Bashkir ethnographer, who passed away two years ago.

The whole life of Rim Yanguzin is connected with the Bashkir State University, the 100th anniversary of which is celebrated this year. By the way, it was Rim Yanguzin who did much for confirmation of the University's date of foundation. From 2004, he published in every issue of the BSU bulletin the chronicle of the University starting from 1909 - the first year of existence of the Ufa teacher's institute, the legal successor of which was the Bashkir State University.

Rim Yanguzin did not see the 100th anniversary of the University. He passed away leaving behind the rich cultural heritage, many pupils and the unique ethnographical museum, which became the pride of the leading republican university. In January 2008, by the decision of the Academic council of the BSU the museum was given the name of Rim Yanguzin.

Rim Yanguzin was a wonderful person, full of creative energy and charisma. He came out of the family of a farmer and made a long way from student of the Bashkir State University to professor, holder of the chair of Bashkortostan history, that he founded himself. He enjoyed great authority not only in home University and in the republic, but he was well known in Russia and abroad too.

The book "Bright way" consists of stories, essays and memoirs of his relatives, friends, colleagues and pupils. It opens up with his autobiography, which he wrote in 2001 on his 60th birthday. The fact of appearance of such book speaks for itself: not every person will deserve so many kind and thankful words from those whom he lived his life with. And, of course, it was born out of love of his family: his wife Zaituna and his son Aibulat. Rim Yanguzin and his wife Zaituna lived together for almost 40 years; he told that she was his main helper - the proofreader and redactor of his articles, monographs and books. And Aibulat did not leave his father down: being a doctor of philosophy, a professor of the Bashkir State University he continues to serve to the home University of the Yanguzins dynasty and to the republic.
