Problem of labour migration was discussed in Ufa

The state of foreign market segment was discussed at the field session of Social advisory council of the Russian Federation for RB by heads of Department of the Federal Migration Service RF for RB and representatives of diasporas of those countries from which there is the most considerable inflow of migrants.

"The migration problem is especially urgent in Bashkortostan this year" - the chairman of Social advisory council Dmitry Pogorelsky noted - "While in previous years the situation was rather favourable, now it has become rather aggravated. Russian authorities try to enclose our labour market from foreigners and it is not due to malicious intent. This process is typical for the whole world as a reaction to economic crisis and complicated situation with employment of the population. In these conditions we are looking for the solution that will be suitable both for employers and for migrants."

For many years, Bashkortostan has been an attractive region for migrant workers. For the first eight months of this year, 54 987 foreign residents and stateless people have gone through migration registration. Most of them arrived in Bashkortostan on visa-free regime. The majority of foreigners come to our republic from Uzbekistan (50.2%), Kazakhstan (13.2%), and Tadjikistan (11.6%).

The problem with medical examination of foreigners is rather topical for the time being. For September 1 of the current year, 90 foreigners were reported by medical institutions of the republic to have virulent diseases.

One of the priority areas of activity of Department of the Federal Migration Service RF for RB is fighting with illegal migration and control over stay of stateless people in Bashkortostan.
