Contest for the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky "For labour and Motherland" is going on
Contest for nomination for the Highest Russian Public award - the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky "For labour and Motherland" - is going on in Russia. We remind that by all-Russian voting on the TV channel "Russia" prince Alexander Nevsky was declared the "Name of Russia". In 2009, the state holiday - Russia's Day - was for the first time celebrated on the prince's birthday.
According to the contest's organizing committee, the aim of the contest is to mark out the best people and organizations who work and create material and cultural welfare for Motherland, contribute to national unity and mutual understanding, rebirth of moral values, justice and social responsibility.
Names of laureates and winners go down to the "Russia's Glory Golden book", which is created to memorialize recipients of the award. The book will be eternally kept in the Russian state library, it becomes a chronicle of contemporaries' glorious deeds and important historical evidence which will be used by many generations.
The contest's prizewinners are His Holiness Kirill Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia and Chairman of the Government RF Vladimir Putin.
