There will be more kindergartens in Ufa

There is a lack of children's preschool institutions in Ufa and city administration works hard on this problem building new kindergartens and giving buildings restructured earlier for a different function back to kindergartens.
For the present moment 67% of children, aged 2-7, attend children's preschool institutions. 16 729 people are on the waiting list for a place in a kindergarten. For the past 2 years, the waiting list has grown shorter for 4%, but due to high birth rate, we cannot say that the problem is being solved. That is what Ramil Dilmukhametov, the deputy head of Ufa administration and the chairman of Municipal property management committee, told about on a today's press-conference in Ufa.
There are 220 kindergartens and 7 infant schools in Ufa now. 211 of them are in municipal ownership.
It is planned to build kindergartens accommodating 770 children in a period of 2009-2011 in Ufa.
Besides, four kindergartens for 935 children will be given back. Starting from 2008, there were 11 buildings returned to kindergartens.
In addition, new kindergartens are opened too. Thus, in 2008-2009 kindergartens for 730 children were opened. There were three applications received from business corporations, wanting to open preschool institutions of short stay, city administration offers buildings to them. There are also autonomous preschool-institutions in Ufa, which have both "municipal" and commercial groups.
As Ramil Dilmukhametov notes, the city affords buildings for commercial kindergartens on favourable terms, the rent is less for about 25%.
