History of book culture RB is demonstrated in National Library

Exhibition of rare editions, devoted to the history of formation and development of book culture on the territory of Bashkortostan is opened in the rare books and manuscripts department of the National Library RB by Achmet-Zaki Validi.

Here rare manuscripts are demonstrated and the earliest editions are dated by the beginning of the XV century, miniature editions and rare Russian editions plus old printed books in Arab, Persian, Turkish, Osman, old-Turk, Bashkir and Tatar languages as well as the samples of the national periodical press of the beginning of the XX century In Arab and Latin graphics. The works of Bashkir scientists-immigrants and the books about Bashkirs, published abroad, are demonstrated separately.

The rare books and manuscripts department of the National Library RB was opened in 1996 with the purpose to collect, store and scientific study of rare and valuable editions.
