The maximum maternity benefit will increase by 20.3% in 2026, reaching 955,936 rubles. It currently stands at 794,355 rubles. Federal media reported this, citing Sergei Chirkov, head of the Russian Federation's Social Fund.
Since 2023, when the maximum payment to expectant mothers was 383,178 rubles, the benefit has increased by more than 2.5 times.
The Chairman of the Social Fund of the Russian Federation explained that the increase in payments is due to changes in the social insurance system, including the merger of funds, the introduction of a single tariff, and a single taxable base for insurance contributions.
Chirkov noted that the decisive factor in the amount of payments is the official salary from which insurance contributions were paid. For the benefit to be calculated based on the full average salary, two years of official work experience are required.
The amount of maternity capital will increase to 974,100 rubles in 2026.
