"Russian-American summits have not been held for more than four years. That's a long time. The past period was challenging for bilateral relations, and, frankly, they have sunk to the lowest point since the Cold War. And this is not good for our countries or the world as a whole," the Russian head of state said.
The meeting was attended by Trump, Rubio, and Witkoff from the US side, and Lavrov and Ushakov from the Russian side. Both world leaders expressed the two countries' determination to achieve results and noted numerous areas for joint work.
Donald Trump noted at the final press conference that there is no agreement on essential points of the settlement yet, but there is a good chance of reaching an agreement, and he admitted that the next meeting could take place in Moscow.
After the talks, Vladimir Putin visited the cemetery where Russian pilots are buried.
