New mobile base stations installed in 26 more villages in Bashkiria

In Bashkiria, thanks to the implementation of the federal project "Elimination of Digital Inequality 2.0", mobile base stations have been installed in 26 more villages and settlements, the republican government reported.

A total of 22 kilometers of fiber-optic communication lines have been laid, providing stable coverage throughout the territory of settlements.

"Thanks to the federal project, in the first six months of this year, it was possible to provide another 7,523 residents of small settlements with cellular communications and high-speed Internet of the fourth generation standard," said Gennady Razumikin, Minister of Digital Development and Public Administration of the Republic of Bashkiria.

The large-scale project started in 2021. Base stations are installed in small villages and settlements with a population of 100 to 500 people. The choice of locations for the construction of towers is carried out taking into account technical feasibility, the lack of mobile Internet, and the results of voting on the State Services portal. In terms of the number of applications submitted, Bashkiria is one of the leaders in the federal program.

This year, the project has been expanded to include 1,962 settlements in Bashkiria with a population of 100 to 1,000.

The development of communication networks and the Internet in the region corresponds to the goals of the national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State," the government of the Republic of Bashkiria added.
