Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump may meet in near future

Assistant to the Russian President Yuri Ushakov announced a possible meeting between the leaders of the two countries.

Next week was designated as the target date for a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, said Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

The day before, Vladimir Putin received US Presidential Special Envoy Steven Witkoff in the Kremlin.

Following the meeting, Russia and the US agreed on a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in the coming days, TASS reports, citing Yuri Ushakov.

The summit is currently being worked out, Yuri Ushakov told reporters. The venue for the meeting of the state leaders has been agreed upon, and it will be announced a little later.

"The target date was designated as next week, but the parties are starting to prepare for this important meeting directly; it is difficult to say how many days the preparation will take. But the option of holding the meeting within the next week was considered, and we are quite positive about this option," Yuri Ushakov told TASS.
