Head of Bashkiria spoke about region investment policy

The main task is always to generate new investments.

Bashkiria has improved its position in attracting investments for six consecutive years. This is expressed in percentages and rubles, as well as in positioning in the investment attractiveness rating, where the republic ranks third. The Head of the Republic of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, said this in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel at the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. He focused on the region's investment policy.

“Everything related to the economic consequences of the sanctions pressure, of course, has a certain negative effect on us. According to the results for the first quarter of 2025, our investment volume is slightly lower, at approximately 99 percent of last year's level. This gives us reason to believe that even the extremely challenging 2025 will end with a positive outlook on investments. Many investments have a multi-year implementation process. Therefore, the main task is always to generate new investments. This is where we are looking for new investors,” the Head of the Republic of Bashkiria said. One of the advantages of Bashkiria is that the region can offer investors a skilled labor force.

"This is a critical issue. How is this expressed? These are demographic indicators. There is a fairly large number of young people in the republic. We hold the top spot in the number of young people in the Volga Federal District. We have preserved one of the most extensive systems of secondary vocational education. Imagine we have 92 secondary vocational educational institutions in the republic - all strong. In the Russian Federation, the "Professionalism" project is being implemented through the Ministry of Education. The largest number of project participants is in our republic. This program includes 18 colleges in Bashkortostan. This is extremely effective and useful. This involves improving the material base, providing advanced training, and adapting teaching programs to meet today's requirements and priority areas. We are training professional personnel, and this is very important," the head of Bashkiria explained.

With the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Bashkortostan annually receives an increase in the number of budget places. "Each of our school graduates can get a budget place. Of course, this requires good knowledge. There must be a competition. Therefore, one of our advantages is that we are ready to provide an opportunity for new enterprises and investment projects to provide production with personnel," emphasized Radiy Khabirov.
