Law on Dragmetals will change in Bashkiria

Changes will be made to the republican law “On precious metals and precious stones.” Deputies will consider them at the plenary meeting of the State Assembly on May 29, according to the press service of Kurultay Bashkiria.

As explained in the State Assembly, the current republican law must align with the times' requirements. Changes, in particular, relate to the activities of individual specialists, the rules for transporting raw materials and products with the content of valuable components, and applying a special barcode to products.

“We are reviewing the current rules for transporting alloys and chemical compounds of precious metals with the content of gold and metals of the platinum group of less than 1% and silver, less than 5%. In this case, we consider the mandatory availability of armed protection an excess requirement and plan to exclude the relevant norm from the law, ”commented the speaker of the Bashkir parliament, Konstantin Tolkachev.

The exact requirement regarding banks transporting coins from precious metals acquired by individuals is canceled. From now on, the safety of such products will have to be ensured by their owners. The bill also introduces new provisions on the mandatory application of two-dimensional bar codes to jewelry and other products made from precious metals and on the state monopoly on the corresponding code.

The adoption of the law will eliminate legal uncertainty in implementing individual operations with precious stones and metals. Bashkiria in Kurultay summarized that the requirements for the turnover of such products, including raw materials, waste, and finished jewelry, are improved and brought into line with the norms of federal legislation.
