Government set key points of Education Development Strategy

The Russian government named the key points of the Education Development Strategy until 2036 and for the future until 2040. Four departments are working on it simultaneously: the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education and Science, Rosobrnadzor, and Rosmolodezh.

Mikhail Mishustin approved the presented approaches to the formation of the document. He noted that the departments will have to develop the stages and mechanisms for implementing the strategy, as well as determine the management model and the organizational role model with the personal responsibility of officials.

In addition, in his opinion, the strategy's target indicators, including those related to teachers' workloads, the level of their remuneration, and the education system's coverage of children and young people, must be presented.

He named one of the crucial aspects of finalizing the strategy as ensuring feedback from teaching staff and heads of educational organizations, and the strategy's relationship with other strategic documents, including those related to education and child safety.

Mikhail Mishustin also instructed the strategy to include several measures. These include increasing the coverage of quality pre-school, school, vocational, and additional education for people with disabilities.

The Prime Minister said the strategy must also include measures to increase the staffing of educational organizations, improve training programs, and provide teaching staff with retraining and advanced training.
