

Russia invites Ukraine to resume direct talks on May 15 in Istanbul. The head of state, Vladimir Putin, announced this at a meeting with journalists.
"In this regard, despite everything, we invite the Kiev authorities to resume the talks they interrupted at the end of 2022, to resume direct talks, and without any preconditions. We propose to start without delay next Thursday, May 15, in Istanbul, where they were held earlier and interrupted," Vladimir Putin said.
In his statement following a series of international talks in the Kremlin, the Russian leader said that he intends to discuss this issue with Erdogan tomorrow. Russia is committed to serious talks with Ukraine, the point of which is to eliminate the root causes of the conflict. The president did not rule out that a ceasefire could be reached during the talks with Ukraine.
