On March 15, three leading Bashkiria universities presented their projects for technological development within the framework of the Priority 2030 program. The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, participated in the presentation. Political scientist and expert of the Center for Geopolitical Studies "Berlek-Unity" Artur Suleimanov assessed the republic's leadership efforts to promote scientific progress in the real sector of the economy.
"The Head of Bashkiria personally participates in the defense of the programs of three republican universities within the framework of the Priority 2030 project, thus demonstrating comprehensive support.
Not every regional leader is involved in this project; it is a rarity. Perhaps the point is that Radiy Khabirov himself has a scientific background, is a candidate in legal sciences, worked at the university, and understands the situation perfectly well.
Radiy Khabirov is deeply involved in the agenda and is very responsible for the development of science. For him, it is not something abstract but a real sphere connected to future breakthroughs. He already understands how these developments will affect our future.
We see how much attention is paid to the development of science in the region today—even a state committee for scientific and technological development has been created. This area has become one of the key areas of the republic's leadership.
It should also be noted that today there is a reassessment of the importance of universities. They are moving from simply training specialists for various sectors of the national economy to a research model. In addition to performing traditional functions - education and development of the personality of students, the university is becoming an engine of science. Speaking about the projects of leading universities of Bashkiria, USPTU put forward the areas of "Chemistry of the New Economy" and "New Technologies of the Fuel and Energy Complex, UUNiT - unique developments of aircraft engines, the medical university - projects on biomedicine and the most modern drugs.
The political scientist emphasized that these will be the economy's fundamental growth points in sanctions and import substitution conditions.
