The event was also attended by representatives of federal and regional authorities, cultural, scientific, and educational figures, journalists, and representatives of traditional religious communities of Russia.
The meeting participants summed up the results of cooperation through UNESCO over the past year, discussed future tasks, and noted the fruitful work of various federal agencies and Russian regions to strengthen interaction with UNESCO member countries.
"Each object that we promote at the international level is a certain step in understanding the rich culture and way of life of the Bashkir people. Cooperation through UNESCO is a way of carefully introducing values that have preserved the inexhaustible reserve of the people's potential. In this context, scientists identify the most objective mechanisms for using heritage to preserve and promote values that reflect traditions and carry vital semantic ideas. The Republic of Bashkortostan has unique potential and is ready to share its experience," said Ural Kilsenbaev.
One of the highlights of the working meeting was the screening of the film "70 Years of UNESCO in Russia," created by the Russia-Culture TV channel. The film, dedicated to the significant date, tells how the organization contributed to developing international cooperation in cultural heritage protection. Part of the filming was done on the UNESCO Geopark "Yangan-Tau territory."
"The Geopark "Yangan-Tau" consistently demonstrates a high level of its activities, reflected in the high assessment from federal and international experts. The active participation of the geopark in the implementation of UNESCO initiatives and the promotion of geoparks on the international agenda is a striking example of the successful interaction of science, nature, and culture,” emphasized Airat Galiev.
