Vladimir Putin reappoints Igor Krasnov as Prosecutor General of Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reappointed Igor Krasnov as the country's Prosecutor General. The head of state signed a corresponding decree, which entered into force today.

According to the supervisory authority, Igor Viktorovich was born in 1975 in Arkhangelsk. He graduated from the Pomor State University with a degree in jurisprudence. Since 1997, he has worked in the prosecutor's office. He worked as an investigator in the central office of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, a senior investigator for especially important cases under the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, and a deputy chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. On January 22, 2020, on the recommendation of the President of the Russian Federation, he was approved by the Federation Council for the post of Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.

He has state awards, including the medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the 2nd degree (2011), the Certificate of Honor of the President of the Russian Federation (2014).
