Liability for propaganda of Nazi symbols may be increased. As reported by the press service of the State Duma, deputies adopted in the first reading amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses "on increasing administrative liability for propaganda or public display of Nazi attributes or symbols." Thus, along with the current fines, mandatory work for up to 100 hours is introduced. The explanatory note notes that the number of these offenses is increasing. The number of people punished for such violations in 2023, compared to 2019, almost doubled - from 2,388 to 5,163. In 90% of cases, fines were imposed, but the share of amounts actually collected and paid decreased from 42 to 37%.
