Bashkiria's experience in increasing the share of small businesses in public procurement has been included in the federal Register of Advanced Practices of the Union of Purchasers of Russia. As reported by the State Committee on Competition Policy of the Republic of Bashkiria, in 2018–2024, the share of purchases from small businesses, including socially oriented ones, increased in the region from 24% to 52%, and the number of small participating enterprises increased by 7%.
The most effective measures were training sessions, methodological support for purchasers and suppliers, work with information systems and the media.
"The practice can be easily scaled up by other regions of the Russian Federation. For this purpose, based on the existing measures, a roadmap for the implementation of advanced practices has been drawn up. In addition, its individual elements can be implemented based on the needs and capabilities of a particular entity," commented the head of the state committee, Gulshat Arslanova.
