Russian President signed decree on holding Fatherland Defender Year
President Vladimir Putin signed a decree declaring 2025 the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland in Russia. The document was published on the official legal information portal.
"To preserve historical memory, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, in gratitude to veterans and recognizing the feat of the participants in the special military operation, I decree to hold the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland in the Russian Federation in 2025," it says.
The head of the presidential administration, Anton Vaino, has been appointed chairman of the organizing committee for the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland.
