Russia to launch new national projects on demography and family support

Starting in 2025, Russia will launch new national projects aimed at improving the demographic situation, including support for families with children: "Family," "Youth and Children," "Long and Active Life," and "New Health Preservation Technologies." This was recalled by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Volga Federal District, Igor Komarov, during a meeting of the Association of Legislative Bodies of State Power of the Subjects of the Volga Federal District. The event took place on December 6 in Mordovia. Among the key issues on the agenda was the demographic situation in the regions of the district, as well as measures aimed at increasing the birth rate.

"More than 430 thousand large families are in the Volga Federal District. It is important to remember that for large families to use state support fully, it is necessary to conduct explanatory work," the Plenipotentiary Representative Igor Komarov addressed the meeting participants.

The number of large families in Bashkiria has increased by 27.4% to 59 thousand over 10 years. In terms of their number, the republic is first in the Volga Federal District and seventh in the country. The birth rate is now 8.9 per thousand population, higher than the national average (8.7) and the district average (8.2).
