Acting Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkiria Andrei Nazarov proposed assigning the republic the unofficial status of Russia's legal capital. This statement was made today at the plenary session of the 10th All-Russian Legal Forum in Ufa.
Andrei Nazarov noted that Bashkiria is currently the leader among the country's regions, including Moscow and St. Petersburg, regarding the frequency and scale of legal and judicial events.
As Andrei Nazarov explained later at a briefing, assigning Bashkiria the status of Russia's legal capital is still conditional. Following the example of Moscow and St. Petersburg, it is given to stimulate other regions' development.
