Russian authorities to introduce new laws against telephone scammers

Around 30 measures are included in a package of bills prepared by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development to combat telephone fraud. Here are the main ones.

Ban on online loans: through State Services, you can ban the registration of loans in your name; the ban can only be lifted at the MFC or bank.

Temporary freeze: if you have changed your phone number or there has been a data leak, the service for applying for a loan online will be temporarily unavailable.

Microloans: they can only be issued in your name.

Automatic call identification: will prompt whether an organization is calling you or whether it is a private call.

Banning messengers for government agencies: Their employees will not contact citizens through messengers. If they write to you on social networks, they are scammers. Banning mass advertising calls and SMS: Advertising calls and SMS mailings will be prohibited.

SMS blocking during a call: when you are talking on the phone, SMS will not arrive. You will be able to see and evaluate their security later.

Biometrics for protection: Biometrics can protect accounts and confirm identity during financial transactions.

The Russian government's press service reported that the authorities intend to include these and other measures soon.
