Radiy Khabirov took part in Russian government strategic session

On October 8, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, participated via video link in a strategic session on Russia's spatial development held by the country's chairman, Mikhail Mishustin.

Opening the work of the strategic session, Mikhail Mishustin noted that its agenda is important in achieving national goals and improving the quality of life of people in cities and villages. The updated country's Strategy for Spatial Development is the basis for solving these problems.

“The prepared document takes into account the current situation and modern challenges. All measures and activities included in it must be synchronized with updated industry strategies, national projects, state programs, and existing plans for infrastructure construction,” Mikhail Mishustin emphasized.

The Chairman of the Government of Russia named support for small and medium-sized cities, rural areas, the Arctic, the Far East, and new regions of the country among the priority areas of work. At the same time, it is important to continue the active development of large agglomerations.

“It is in them that innovations are concentrated. A new economy is emerging and gaining strength, including creative industries. The level of labor productivity is traditionally higher there, which largely contributes to the implementation of significant investment projects,” explained Mikhail Mishustin.

Participants in the strategic session discussed instruments and measures to support regions, including a program for integrating rural areas, stimulating mechanisms for creating high-tech jobs, developing social infrastructure, and training qualified personnel for various industries.

“When preparing large-scale plans for the qualitative transformation of the country, it is very important to consider the opinions of people and businesses. To receive feedback, governors of Russian regions participate in a video conference with us. All reasonable proposals and comments will be taken into account by colleagues. The Strategy for Spatial Development of Russia must be approved no later than December,” summarized Mikhail Mishustin.
