6th BRICS Young Diplomats Forum to be held in Ufa

The 6th BRICS Young Diplomats Forum will be held in Ufa from August 27 to 31, with 110 representatives from more than 30 countries participating. The forum's theme is the role of youth diplomacy in strengthening multilateralism for equitable global security development, as reported by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, at a weekly briefing.

“It is expected that about 110 delegates from more than 30 countries will participate in the forum. The event will include meetings of participants with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Republic of Bashkortostan, prominent political figures, economic experts, public figures, winners of BRICS Olympiads and games, as well as an introduction to the history and culture of this unique region of Russia. And on the forum's last day, an official ceremony will be held to accept new International Association of Young Diplomats members,” commented Maria Zakharova.

According to Maria Zakharova, the forum will be held following the plan of events of the Russian presidency of the BRICS association and is aimed at strengthening youth cooperation, friendship, and trust between the countries of the South and the East, the people living in them.

“In a difficult foreign policy situation, Bashkortostan continues to develop partnerships with friendly states. Among them are the BRICS countries, with whom we are strengthening cooperation. We see their interest in high-quality products from our republic. According to the results of the first half of 2024, the share of exports in the region's foreign trade turnover with the BRICS countries amounted to 57 percent,” said the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov.
