6.5 billion rubles were allocated to Russian tourism business

Tatyana Aksyutina

The Russian government has allocated more than 6.5 billion rubles for the preferential lending program for investment projects in the tourism sector. This will help ensure the timely implementation of a dozen new projects.

“We expect that the allocation of such a subsidy will allow investors to speed up work and complete the construction or reconstruction of hotel rooms on time. Open water parks, ski resorts, and amusement parks. So that our citizens have more opportunities for recreation in comfortable conditions, including family vacations,” emphasized Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin.

The program for issuing preferential loans in the tourism sector was launched in 2021. It allows investors to receive a preferential loan for the construction and reconstruction of hotels, multifunctional complexes, amusement parks, water parks, and ski resort infrastructure. More than 200 projects with a subsidized loan portfolio of about 870 billion rubles are participating in the program. Economists believe that tourism helps to "boost" other industries - construction, industry, transport, services and others. Developing tourism means investing in the future, creating jobs, and constantly flowing money from visiting tourists.

Six years ago, upon his appointment as the head of the republic, Radiy Khabirov noted that the situation with domestic tourism was fragile since the region still lacked the necessary infrastructure. On his instructions, the budget began to allocate grants and subsidies to the tourism business. Despite the constantly emerging difficulties - first the pandemic, then the SMO began, the topic of tourism has always been one of the priorities. In the most challenging times, Bashkiria launched the Bashkir Longevity program, school and industrial tourism.

Last year, the region supported 145 tourism investment projects, including preferential provision of land plots.

"As many people as possible should see the amazing nature of Bashkiria. Therefore, developing tourism infrastructure is one of our most important issues. We are moving forward so that residents and guests of the republic can relax with us in Bashkortostan,” wrote Radiy Khabirov on his Telegram channel.
