Bashkortostan is ready for the elections—this is how Russian Central Election Commission member Evgeny Shevchenko assessed the readiness for the single voting day.
“The republic is ready. The registration of candidates has ended. 10 political parties in Bashkortostan decided to participate in the elections. All were able to nominate and register their candidates. As for the elections of the head of the region, all candidates who submitted documents for nomination were able to collect the required number of signatures in support of the nomination. The signatures were checked, the documents are true, and all candidates are registered. All five parliamentary parties took part in the nomination of candidates,” said Evgeny Shevchenko.
Representatives of 10 parties and self-nominated candidates are participating in the upcoming autumn elections. Voters have a choice – candidates with different points of view are allowed to participate in the elections. In Bashkiria, 218 campaigns will be held simultaneously on September 6, 7, and 8, 2024: elections of the Head of Bashkortostan, additional elections of a deputy of the State Assembly - Kurultai of Bashkortostan in the Ufa single-mandate constituency No. 54 and 216 campaigns for elections of deputies of city, district and village councils.
Five candidates will contest the elections of the Head of Bashkortostan. Four candidates are running for a deputy mandate in the additional elections of the Kurultai of the region in the Ufa single-mandate constituency No. 54.
4,484 candidates are participating in the elections of deputies of city, district, and village councils, while 1,775 mandates are being filled—on average, three people compete for each mandate.
