Russia has adopted new measures to support parents with many children

The government has allocated additional funding for payments to mothers-heroines and holders of the Order of Parental Glory.

At the president's initiative, women raising at least 10 children are awarded the title of "Mother-Heroine" and entitled to a one-time payment of 1 million rubles.

Moms and dads with seven or more children are awarded the Order of Parental Glory and receive 500 thousand rubles. Those with more than four children will receive a medal for this order and a reward of 200 thousand rubles.

There are more and more such families in Russia, so the government has decided to allocate additional funding.

The federal cabinet's press service reported that 30 mothers-heroines and more than 100 parent-holders of the Order of Parental Glory received payments in 2024.

"A large family should become the norm, a philosophy of society's life if you like, a guideline for the entire state strategy. It is important to continue to do everything necessary to support them," said Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Russian government.

In Bashkiria, since 1998, women raising five or more children have been awarded the "Maternal Glory" medal. Since 2020, men with worthy children have been awarded the "Paternal Valor" medal.
