The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, met with the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, Boris Kovalchuk, who arrived in the republic's capital to participate in the fourth meeting of the heads of the supreme audit institutions of BRICS. It should be noted that in 2024, Russia became the country chairing the international association.
At the meeting, the Head of Bashkortostan highly appreciated the effectiveness of the republic's interaction with the Accounts Chamber of Russia.
The head of the republic also emphasized the importance of meeting the heads of the supreme audit institutions within BRICS, which is taking place in the capital of Bashkortostan. The business event is attended by heads of audit bodies from Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, the UAE, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Belarus. The topic of the discussion is "Sustainable Development Audit". For his part, the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber noted the important role of the regions in implementing the sustainable development agenda. He also emphasized the importance of holding the next meeting of the heads of the BRICS supreme audit institutions in Ufa.
The meeting discussed improving the interaction of regional ministries and departments with the Accounts Chamber of Russia and the chamber's recommendations for ensuring sustainable development and fulfilling the strategic objectives and goals of national projects initiated by President Vladimir Putin.
On July 30, 2024, the fourth meeting of the heads of the BRICS supreme audit institutions was held at the Toratau Congress Hall in Ufa. Previously, Beijing (China) and New Delhi (India) served as venues for the business event. In 2020, the meeting was held in a video conference format during the coronavirus pandemic.
