Head of Bashkiria signed law extending tax benefits for brewers

The head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, signed the law on extending tax benefits for brewers, adopted by the State Assembly of the Republic at the final meeting of the spring session.

As the chairman of the regional parliament, Konstantin Tolkachev, explained, the law extends the corporate property tax exemption for producers of beer and beer drinks.

“Brewers were exempt from paying this tax in the previous few years. The brewing industry worked stably during this difficult period for the economy, and the volume of excise tax revenues to the republic’s budget did not decrease but even showed an increase - from 7.3 billion rubles in 2020 to 7.79 billion rubles in 2023. This is even though a significant tightening of regulation characterizes the beer market: excise tax rates have increased, the sizes of PET containers have been limited, and metering devices, EGAIS, and online cash registers have been introduced. Favorable tax conditions will allow the industry to continue functioning stably, preserving jobs and replenishing the republican budget. This measure will also support suppliers of raw materials and manufacturers of terephthalic acid, glass, and aluminum,” said Konstantin Tolkachev.

The parliament speaker noted that the benefit would be possible only if several conditions were met. The average monthly salary of employees must not be lower than the average salary for the type of economic activity, “Beverage production.” The average number of employees during the entire tax benefit period must remain at least 90% of the exact figure for the previous tax period. At the end of the year, the amount of excise taxes paid should show an increase.
