State Duma adopted law on working pensioners' pensions indexation
On June 26, the State Duma adopted a law on indexing pensions for working pensioners. Indexation was suspended in 2016. From February 1, 2025, and annually thereafter, pensions will be increased for both those who have already retired and those who continue to work. This decision will affect 7.87 million people.
The State Duma believes this will allow experienced personnel, including doctors and teachers, to return to the economy. “Let's look to the future with confidence. Such priorities of our president speak about one thing: Russia is a social state,” said Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
According to preliminary calculations, payments of indexation amounts will require 96.5 billion rubles in 2025, 177 billion rubles in 2026, and 260 billion rubles in 2027.
