Elections in Bashkiria will be three days: September 6, 7 and 8

The Bashinform News Agency reported at a press conference that the elections in Bashkiria will be in three days.

“The elections will be held on Single Voting Day - September 8. At the same time, taking into account the powers that the Central Election Commission has, a decision was made to hold elections within three days - September 6, 7, and 8. In addition to the election of the Head of the Republic, we expect many election campaigns. This includes elections to the State Assembly - Kurultai of the region in the Ufa region. We are also planning elections to 113 representative bodies of local self-government and 81 campaigns for additional elections of deputies of councils of rural settlements and the urban district of ZATO Mezhgorye,” said the chairman of the Central Election Commission of Bashkiria Azat Galimkhanov.

According to the approved plan, the period from May 31 to June 20 is allotted for nominating candidates for the post of head of Bashkiria. Candidates must submit documents for registration no earlier than July 1 and no later than July 11, 2024. Registration of candidates for the position of regional head should end on July 20. Finally, no later than July 25, drawings will be held among registered candidates for the distribution of free air time and free print space for election campaign participants. The campaign will last from August 10 to 00:00 on September 6, 2024.

Precinct election commissions will begin working 20 days before voting day, starting on August 19. Following the example of the InformUIK project, which successfully proved itself in the Russian presidential elections in March 2024, members of precinct election commissions are expected to conduct door-to-door visits and inform voters.

“Currently, the elections are in their early stages. We are waiting for notifications from political parties about holding conferences at which candidates will be nominated for the post of Head of Bashkiria,” added Azat Galimkhanov.

Traditionally, the hotline operates at 8-800-347-54-54 from June 18 to September 12 during the election campaign.
