Elections of Head of Bashkortostan Republic are scheduled for September 8

Today, deputies of the State Assembly - Kurultay of the Republic of Bashkortostan adopted a resolution “On calling elections for the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan”.

“The elections of the Head of the Republic in accordance with the Election Code RB are scheduled for September 8,” said Chairman of the State Assembly Konstantin Tolkachev. “With the adoption of the corresponding resolution, the campaign for the election of the highest official of the republic officially begins. Candidates are nominated by political parties. According to the Constitution of Bashkortostan, a citizen of the Russian Federation who has reached the age of 30 and permanently resides in the territory of our country can be elected Head of the Republic. The candidate must not have citizenship of a foreign country, residence permit, or other document giving the right to permanent residence abroad.”

The Speaker of Parliament noted that the election of the Head of the Republic is an important social and political event that will determine the region's development trajectory for the next five years.

“The upcoming elections are particularly important for the republic's development,” said Konstantin Tolkachev.

Earlier, Bashinform reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the nomination of Radiy Khabirov for a new term and cited the opinions of experts who commented on this decision.
