Bailiffs may be allowed to use weapons and special equipment in Russia
Deputies of the State Duma supported a bill granting employees of the Russian Federation's compulsory enforcement agencies the right to use physical force, special means, and firearms in cases established by law.
The document establishes that bailiffs can use such weapons to protect judges and participants in court proceedings from attacks that pose a danger to life or health. It can also prevent an escape from custody, repel an attack on a court, and detain a person caught committing a severe crime and trying to escape. In this case, before shooting to kill, the weapon must be used for a warning shot.
The bill's authors emphasize that the changes will not violate human rights and legitimate interests since the possibility of using firearms is strictly regulated.
