

The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, participated in the Council of Regions of Russia and Uzbekistan meeting in Tashkent. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held the meeting. The press service of the Head of the Republic of Belarus reported this.
Addressing the heads of regions, Vladimir Putin emphasized that the successful development of relations between the two countries largely depends on their practical work. In his opinion, regions play a crucial role in strengthening relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Uzbekistan and significantly contribute to the development of the entire complex of relations.
Speaking at the Council meeting, Vladimir Putin outlined the key areas of interaction between the two countries and expressed confidence in the further expansion of partnership relations.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is convinced that further developing interregional dialogue and filling it with new, practical content is crucial to expanding and strengthening a full-scale partnership between the two countries.
More than 200 joint projects totaling $4 billion are being implemented at the regional level. In addition, a new package of agreements for another $5 billion has been prepared.
Among the priorities of interregional cooperation, the President of Uzbekistan named expanding the scale of industrial cooperation, cooperation in the agricultural sector, developing tools for supporting and financing regional projects, and further increasing mutual trade.
At a meeting of the Council of Regions, leaders of several regions of Uzbekistan discussed effective interaction with Bashkortostan. Thus, the khokim of the Tashkent region, Zoyir Mirzaev, announced plans to create joint industrial zones, including implementing a project to produce Bashkir honey.
In turn, the khokim of the Fergana region, Khairullo Bozarov, said at the meeting that road maps have already been signed with the leadership of Bashkortostan to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
Before the meeting, in the presence of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and the First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Denis Manturov, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, the khokim of the Tashkent region Zoyir Mirzaev and the khokim of the Fergana region Khairullo Bozarov signed memorandums of understanding between the regions.
Later, in a conversation with journalists, Radiy Khabirov summarized the key results of the Council of Regions of Russia and Uzbekistan meeting.
He noted that thanks to Vladimir Putin's support, normal communication channels have been created, a corridor into which businesses should enter and cooperate.
