State Duma will consider law on additional guarantees for workers' rights protection

The State Duma has introduced amendments to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, which provide additional guarantees for protecting the rights of enterprises' and organizations' employees. The amendments propose to fix the duration of leave for people with disabilities, prescribe tools to increase workers' mobility and counteract wage delays, and provide state control over the implementation of labor agreements.

As explained in the press service of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the bill will enable employers in a difficult economic situation to save their staff and employees and maintain professional relevance and income. Employers will be able to temporarily send workers through the employment service to organizations where there are vacancies. Employment contracts with the first employer will be suspended for this period. It will also be possible to create regional interdepartmental commissions to take action against those employers who delay employee salaries.
