Radiy Khabirov assessed prospects for cooperation with Central Asian countries

The head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, believes that the republic shares many commonalities with numerous Central Asian countries across various indicators—economic, humanitarian, social, cultural, and religious. These shared values and similarities foster a sense of kinship and understanding, laying a solid foundation for potential cooperation.

“There is a wide range of possibilities. Moreover, it differs from this or that state. If we interact with Kazakhstan, we are interested in everything related to oil production and oil refining; this is the structure of the economy of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Bashkortostan. If we talk about Uzbekistan, we are very interested in projects related to wood processing, light industry, and cooperation in agriculture. All states have diverse economies, so there is an extensive choice to diversify our economy. This is extremely important in these conditions.

It is also essential for us that we are conducting a dialogue about deeper, primarily industrial, cooperation. Some joint ventures are already at the stage of particular implementation, which involves the localization of industrial production either here, on the territory of the Republic of Bashkortostan, or in Kazakhstan. We find preferential norms and professional conditions everywhere, so I emphasize that economic and political stability is most important for business, that is, clear game rules that will not be violated. We see such conditions in relations with Central Asian colleagues and, accordingly, business goes there,” said Radiy Khabirov, answering a question from Bashinform after the opening of the IV Central Asian Conference of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
