Radiy Khabirov met with UAE Minister for Climate Change

On April 24 in Dubai, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, met with the Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi. The press service of the Head of Bashkiria reported this.

On the agenda is increasing trade in halal agricultural products and expanding their access to the markets of Arab countries. Manufacturers from Bashkortostan were the first in Russia to be certified by Roskachestvo according to the Halal standard.

“We came to you with great, serious, and long-term intentions. We will soon open a representative office of Bashkortostan at the Russian Trade Mission in the United Arab Emirates. In recent years, agricultural products from Russia, particularly from our republic, have begun to be actively supplied to the states of the Islamic world. We are well aware of the requirements for the supply of products according to the Halal standard. And we are ready to discuss further cooperation,” said Radiy Khabirov.

The head of Bashkortostan said the region has experience exporting agricultural products to the UAE. Radiy Khabirov added that the republic has significant export potential for grain, beef, vegetable and rapeseed oil, and honey.

UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak thanked the Bashkortostan delegation for the visit and expressed interest in investment cooperation, joint scientific research in the field of environmental protection and agricultural production.

“There are more than 20 UAE-accredited farms in the Russian Federation from which we import meat. We will work to increase the number of certified agricultural enterprises to facilitate the import process. We are also ready to discuss investment issues on our part in various sectors of the economy of Bashkortostan, including agriculture, technology, and scientific research. And, of course, we will provide all the necessary information for your specialists,” said Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak.

The head of Bashkortostan noted on his pages on social networks that it is planned to open a representative office of Bashkortostan shortly at the Russian Trade Mission in the UAE.

In 2023, Bashkortostan exported more than 730 thousand tons of agricultural products, 1.8 times higher than the previous year. Republican manufacturers sell products to 44 countries, including the CIS countries, China, India, Thailand, Iran, Iraq, Serbia, and Hungary.

Bashkortostan has the opportunity to send to international markets more than 1 million tons of grains and oilseeds, 100,000 tons of vegetable oils (including rapeseed), animal feed, 50,000 tons of flour and sugar, 10,000 tons of milk powder, cheeses, butter, cereals, and confectionery, 5 million cans of condensed milk, and more than 100 tons of honey.
