Head of Bashkortostan met with Russian Ambassador to UAE

The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the United Arab Emirates, Timur Zabirov, within the framework of the World of Opportunity International Business Forum, which is taking place in Dubai. According to the press service of the Head of the Republic, they discussed priority areas of cooperation between the region and the UAE.

During the meeting, Radiy Khabirov discussed the presentation of Bashkiria's economic, investment, and tourism potential to the diplomatic corps of foreign states that took place the day before at the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow.

"Ambassadors and representatives of 85 states were present. We have also prepared an exhibition and cultural program. After the presentation, we talked a lot and made connections. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov highly appreciated this event," Khabirov said.

The Head of the Republic noted that the region would be ready for broad cooperation with Arab countries, including developing mutual trade and joint projects to enter the Middle East and African markets. In addition, the issue of opening representative offices of the republic in Iran and the UAE is currently being considered.

"The UAE ranks sixth in Bashkortostan's foreign trade turnover. Last year alone, trade volume increased five and a half times. This is an excellent indicator. We are actively expanding cooperation in high technology, sports, and tourism," Khabirov emphasized.

The Russian Ambassador to the UAE expressed gratitude to the Head of Bashkortostan for his support and desire to increase cooperation.

"The United Arab Emirates is our leading trade and economic partner in the Arab world. Russia has great opportunities for cooperation with this country. We can take cooperation to a whole new level," said Timur Zabirov.

The largest business event brought together 2 thousand delegates and about 10 thousand online participants from more than 45 countries, including business community representatives, authorities, and international organizations.
