National Policy Ministry may appear in Russia

As chairman of the State Duma Committee on Nationalities Affairs and co-chairman of the Socialist political party “A Just Russia—Patriots—For Truth,” Gennady Semigin announced the need to create a ministry for nationality policy in Russia.

“I can say with 90% confidence that this ministry, this entity within the government, will appear. And he will most likely report directly to the President of Russia. Our initiative is to create the federal migration service as a separate department,” Gennady Semigin said in Ufa at a press conference at the Bashinform agency.

As Gennady Semigin explained, this will create a federal migration service in the country that will manage all migration policies.

Today, no one can figure out how many migrants there are in Russia, the State Duma Committee on Nationalities chairman noted at a press conference.

“There is no clear understanding of where and where they don’t work and how many there are. No one can give a figure for how many migrants there are in the country—it’s simply unbelievable. The Federal Migration Service will help accumulate all these issues and take over all functions,” summed up Gennady Semigin.
