Radiy Khabirov instructed to continue work on city electric train project in Ufa

During an operational government meeting, the Head of Bashkortostan instructed the Ufa administration to prepare a report on the development of urban railway transport for Transport Hour.

“For five years, since my work in the republic began, I have dealt with this issue... But we will move forward, and this is an essential project. The principle is the same as in Moscow: electric trains bring people to a place on time where they can transfer to another transport. The transfer site should be clean and beautiful; maybe, over time, trade will appear here. People got out, boarded buses, or went on about their business. We are just beginning to realize the potential of the Ufa City electric train; it is the future. We have a lot of interesting work ahead of us for the upcoming five-year period,” said Radiy Khabirov.

He also discussed the problems of reconstructing the children's railway in Yakutov Park. As explained by Dmitry Novikov, deputy head of the Railways territorial administration, the project remains in force: “Land issues regarding cultural heritage sites are now being resolved. We need to decide which buildings have this status; accordingly, with this data, we will finalize the concept and begin designing.”

The head of the republic proposed discussing the terms of reference together since we will most likely build a small sports facility in the park.

As the Ufa authorities reported, the city electric train project should connect different ends of the metropolis - Dema and Shaksha, with the organization of transfer hubs. Another project that has been implemented for many years is the creation of the Southern Bypass of Ufa (through the Ufa and Iglinsky districts) to create a circular train movement around the city.
