Government will finance municipal infrastructure modernization
In 2024, 12 billion rubles will be allocated to modernize municipal infrastructure systems in the regions. The Russian government issued a corresponding order.
Federal funding is used to update utility networks and repair boiler houses and wastewater treatment plants.
These funds will be provided to regional authorities by the public law company “Territory Development Fund” - which has been selected as the operator of this support program.
The work is being carried out as part of the modernizing public utility infrastructure program until 2027.
According to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with deputy prime ministers on February 26, during the implementation of the federal project “Infrastructure Menu,” its tools have proven their effectiveness. With their help, not only housing and communal services facilities but also kindergartens and schools are annually repaired or put into operation in the regions, roads are brought into proper condition, and public transport is updated.
