Radiy Khabirov presented Ufa student campus to Vladimir Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin participated in the opening ceremony of a network of modern university campuses in Russia. The Head of State joined via video link. He was presented with facilities built in Bashkiria, Moscow, Perm Territory, Tatarstan, and Ugra. Heads of regions and heads of universities told about each of the projects.

“Ufa is indeed one of the largest educational centers in the country. Radiy Khabirov, please, you have the floor,” said the head of state.

“Dear Mr. President! Dear Colleagues! Today is indeed a significant day for us. Five years ago, we approached you with our proposals for modernizing the infrastructure of science and higher education in the republic. You supported them very effectively. Today, we have a very significant result. First, this is the modern Bashkir flagship of science and higher education - the Ufa University of Science and Technology based on two universities. Now 51 thousand students are studying there. And this is indeed the flagship of science and education. This world-class Eurasian scientific and educational center unites six universities, three scientific institutions, and 30 industrial partners.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, summing up the work of the REC, identified us as one of the dynamically developing and leading RECs in the Russian Federation.

We have a huge number of young people. This is 1 million 85 thousand people. This is the largest number of young people in the Volga Federal District. So, of course, we always needed a campus. We are very grateful to Russia's Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Why? Every year, our admission to budget places increases. But we have experienced and continue to experience a serious shortage of dormitories. Therefore, we certainly took part in the campus competition. And we are very grateful that the decision was made to build it. Today, we present the first phase of the campus. This is 37 thousand square meters, a scientific and educational environment - 20 laboratories. Here is an environment for student creativity and entrepreneurship. We have already completed the design of the second stage. This is a big job; it’s 103 thousand square meters and 7 dormitory towers, united by a single stylobate, where there will be a student environment. Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, we wanted to create a reference space for the student environment, for the scientific and educational environment, within the framework of this campus. We are always waiting for you in Bashkortostan; we are very grateful for the republic's support and warm attitude towards the republic. And, of course, we would be happy to show you this campus, which we hope you will like and will develop science and education in general in the Russian Federation. Thank you for your attention,” said the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov.

In response, the head of state thanked him for the invitation and promised to visit our region.

"Thank you very much for the invitation. I will be happy to come to Bashkortostan. Indeed, you have a good land, very hospitable people, and a beautiful culture. The republic is developing quickly, so I will do it with pleasure. We will see you soon and talk about the development of the republic. And, of course, I want to congratulate the leaders of the relevant regions, Moscow, Almetyevsk, Kogalym, and Ufa, on these events.

It was just said here that the leadership of Bashkiria sought to create a reference space for students, graduate students, and teachers. The goal of creating modern campuses is precisely this - to create reference spaces. We will undoubtedly move further in this direction.
