Central Election Commission in Bashkiria headed by Azat Galimkhanov

49-year-old Azat Galimkhanov was unanimously elected Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Bashkortostan. This decision was made today at the 66th meeting of the region’s Central Election Commission.

At the end of December last year, Ilona Makarenko resigned as chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic.

On January 24, the Russian Central Election Commission proposed the candidacy of Azat Galimkhanov to the Central Election Commission of Bashkortostan to elect him to the post of chairman of the commission. This proposal was made by a member of the Central Election Commission, Evgeniy Shevchenko, at the 151st meeting of the Russian Central Election Commission.

As the Chief of Staff of the Head of Bashkortostan, Maxim Zabelin noted that the election to the post of chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic is a significant step.

As Bashinform News Agency reported, in December 2023, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, changed the composition of the Central Election Commission. The document on appointing the Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of the Ufa University of Science and Technology, Azat Galimkhanov, as a member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic was published on the official legal information portal.
