Business interaction is developing between members of the business communities of Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan. The First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development of the Republic spoke about this at a working group meeting on developing cooperation between the republics in Astana.
Today, bilateral cooperation has developed between Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan in many areas, including the agro-industrial complex, mechanical engineering, chemical, food, and oil industries. Thus, the research and production company “Packer” supplies packer-anchor equipment and downhole assemblies for oil and gas production to Kazakhstan with an annual turnover of about 90 million rubles.
There is also a prospect for developing interaction between the republics in the scientific sphere. To date, 86 agreements on scientific, educational, and cultural cooperation have been concluded between Bashkortostan and Kazakh educational institutions, and agreements on implementing exchange programs have been signed. In total, 721 students from Kazakhstan are studying at universities in Bashkortostan. In addition, they are based on the West Kazakhstan Agrarian-Technical University, a representative office of the Ufa State Petroleum Technical University that has been operating since 2022. Training is conducted in three joint educational programs with the issuance of double diplomas. Cooperation continues through academic mobility, exchange of experience, internships, and advanced training.
As part of building cooperation and bringing together the business circles of the two republics, air transportation logistics are being improved. Since 2023, 16 thousand passengers have used direct flights from Ufa to Astana. In addition, from July 2023, an additional two flights per week to Almaty have been launched.
