Russian government celebrated Bashkiria on Sports and Health Decade

Sports and Health Decade took place in all regions of Russia and brought together more than 2.5 million Russians. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced this. He noted that the most massive competitions were held in Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Kemerovo, Moscow, Samara, and Moscow.

Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin added that the Sports and Health Decade has become a traditional sporting event in Russia during the New Year holidays.

Remember that the Sports and Health Decade started on January 1, 2024, in Bashkiria. More than 500 physical education events were held during the New Year holidays in the republic. On the first day of the New Year, people took part in the traditional “Run of Promises,” the Bashinform News Agency reported. Residents of Ufa participated in mass sports and family games, ice skating, and skiing for eight days. 32 ice skating rinks, 22 ski runs, and ski slopes were opened for citizens and guests of the capital.

The Minister of Sports of Bashkiria, Ruslan Khabibov, previously reported that about 600 thousand residents and guests of the republic participated in the Sports and Health Decade. Ruslan Khabibov noted that municipalities organized sporting events during the New Year holidays. The Minister of Sports highlighted the Alsheevsky, Arkhangelsk, Belebeevsky, Ishimbaysky districts, Ufa, Sterlitamak, and Sibay.

Let us add that the Sports and Health Decade, which aims to attract residents to physical education and sports massively, is held in early January throughout Russia as part of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life” of the national project “Demography.”
