Russian citizenship has been simplified for some country's representatives
President Vladimir Putin signed a decree simplifying the admission of Russian citizenship to Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Moldova citizens. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
According to the presidential decree, citizens of Belarus who have reached the age of 18 will be able to obtain Russian citizenship without meeting the following requirements: permanent residence in the Russian Federation from the date of issuance of a residence permit, knowledge of the Russian language, knowledge of the history of Russia and the fundamentals of the country's legislation. For citizens of Kazakhstan and Moldova, the listed requirements are also canceled. However, they need to confirm their knowledge of the Russian language.
Belarusians must provide the appropriate application, residence permit, and passport to obtain Russian citizenship. Citizens of Kazakhstan and Moldova must also provide proof of Russian language proficiency.
