Radiy Khabirov participated in Russian government session on foreign economic activity

On December 12, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, participated in a strategic session on developing foreign economic activity via video link. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin chaired the meeting.

Opening the session, Mikhail Mishustin noted that effective interaction with foreign partners affects many processes in Russia, including attracting investments, the dynamics of industrial development, the pace of innovation, and household incomes.

Mikhail Mishustin noted that by 2030, the share of friendly countries in trade turnover could exceed the 90 percent mark.

“The role of those now trying to contain Russia will be reduced to a minimum. Of course, breaking off cooperation with them would be wrong. Russia has repeatedly emphasized that it will welcome all foreign partners who want to continue constructive interaction. We will apply a diversified approach to this group of countries, based primarily on our interests and the readiness of counterparties to work in new conditions based on mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests,” summed up the Chairman of the Russian Government.

As the press service of the republican government reported, Bashkortostan maintains trade relations with more than 100 countries. The republic's foreign trade turnover in January-September 2023 amounted to $3.31 billion. At the same time, 75 percent of the total turnover is the supply of Bashkir goods to foreign markets.

The top 10 partners of Bashkortostan include China, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates, Latvia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Netherlands, and Germany. The share of these countries is 75.1 percent of the total foreign trade turnover of the region.

Bashkortostan is one of the leading subjects of the Russian Federation in developing and implementing support measures in export entrepreneurship. Thus, based on the results of 2019-2023, subsidies from the regional budget were provided to 211 republican exporters for 438 million rubles. The volume of supported exports amounted to 40 billion rubles.

Bashkortostan's trade missions in the territories of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and China also contribute to the growth of foreign trade turnover. With their assistance, more than 7.5 billion rubles of investment were attracted to the republic, and dozens of export contracts worth more than 1 billion rubles were concluded.
